JAPANESE car maker Nissan is preparing the ground for a milestone celebration, as drivers of its popular Leaf electric vehicle race towards the billion kilometre mark. Nissan is creating a series of animated stories centring on the experiences of selected owners to mark the event. For example, Roberto, from Valladolid, narrates his own story as the first taxi driver in Spain to buy a Leaf, explaining that since buying the car in October 2011 he has covered over 100,000 km and eliminated three quarters of his running costs.
The SUV version of the new A-Class – the Mercedes GLA – has been caught on video winter testing ahead of a likely debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Mercedes A-Class is now out in the wild, and this morning we had news of UK pricing for the new Mercedes CLA – the ‘Coupe’ A-Class – and now we have news of the next instalment of Mercedes’ A-Class adventure – the Mercedes GLA. IN A potential blow to the current thinking by road safety campaigners, the number of serious accidents on 20mph roads increased by over a quarter (26 per cent) last year. That’s according to analysis of government data by road safety charity, Institute of Advanced Motorists. Slight accidents on 20mph roads increased by 17 per cent.However, in the same year, there was a decrease in the number of serious and slight accidents on 30mph roads and 40 mph roads.
